Richard Bates, later life solicitor at Cognitive Law has taken on an epic cycling challenge to raise money for The Starr Trust.
The Challenge: Nice to Nimes Bike Ride.
On Tuesday 13th September 2022 Richard will set off on his journey, alongside his brother Alex and other fellow cyclists from Nice, to cycle westwards, and inland until they reach the Roman city of Nimes. The challenge is expected (all going well!) to take 4 days covering a staggering 475kms.
In a slight change to previous years, on day 3 of this year’s ride the cyclists have a choice of two different routes. Those feeling fit can opt to tackle the Giant of Provence, the Hors Categorie Bald Mountain. Anyone needing an easier day can bypass Mont Ventoux and enjoy a shorter day when the two routes split just after the lovely hilltop village of Bonnieux and head straight to Carpentras for an early finish. I wonder which one Richard will go for?
The Starr Trust is one of Cognitive Law’s official charity partners, and one that Richard is a Trustee off. The charity based in Sussex have a mission to remove roadblocks for young people. The charity is there to help them succeed and thrive in whatever they put their minds to. They do this by supporting individuals and groups with financial grants, sharing connections, and encouraging success.
There are still places available to join the once in a life time bike ride, so if you’d also like to take on the challenge visit the charity’s event page here.
A fundraising page has been set up to help Richard raise much needed funds for The Starr Trust and all donations will be hugely appreciated. Please find a link to the fundraising page below.
Everyone at Cognitive Law is wishing Richard and the rest of team lots of luck in this challenge and we look forward to hearing all about it, once they’ve recovered!
