In light of current circumstances we have seen an increase in enquiries from people worried about updating their wills and powers of attorney. Many people are concerned as to whether this can be done without having any face to face contact. We would like to reassure you that our Wills team are here to help and support in these uncertain times. We have taken particular steps to ensure we can continue to provide you with an efficient high quality service at a time you need it the most.
We can confirm:
- Coronavirus has not impacted operations at Cognitive Law, nor is it likely to, as we are entirely used to remote working
- Meetings with clients can be held face to face, by phone and by video conferencing, as circumstances and safe hygiene require
- For those without video conferencing facilities, we can give you access to a disinfected tablet for the purposes of any meeting
- We have a protocol for signing and witnessing documents lawfully, even if the person concerned is in isolation
- The Court of Protection is pushing through emergency measures to allow cases and applications to continue as normally as they can
- The current situation will not affect our pricing. Indeed, we always do what we can to be as helpful as possible to our clients and the community
